Terms: You can return any item to me within 10 days for any reason. If I misdescribed it, I will refund your postage both ways. If you are dissatisfied, you pay postage both ways. All photos are taken under daylight and Short Wave Ultraviolet (I use a Super Bright brand light). If your light is more than a few years old, the item may look bluer than it looks here.

A Showpiece - Cabinet-sized gemmy example of liver brown-red friedelite with willemite and sphalerite from the Sterling Hill mine, Ogdensburg, Sussex County, NJ. The willemite fluoresces green SW and the sphalerite fluoresces blue & orange LW. It weighs 2 lb. 3.0 oz. and is 4.5 x 4.2 x 2.4 inches. $160.00, item #1611

Salmon calcite from the Sterling Hill mine in Ogdensburg, Sussex County, NJ. The calcite fluoresces red-orange SW. It weighs 12.7 oz. and is 5.1 x 3.0 x 1.7 inches. $22.00, item #3696 Unusual NJ location - Calcite and bright chalcopyrite from the Snake Hill quarry, Secaucus, Hudson County, NJ. Gahnite - discovered in 2005 in one area of the Passaic pit, Sterling Hill mine, Ogdensburg, Sussex County, NJ. No more to be found. This is a beauty with several dipyramidal crystals. The calcite covering the crystals was etched away. It weighs 6.3 oz. and is 2.8 x 2.1 x 1.7 inches. Item #3671, $20.00 From an old collection, ca. 1950 - Rare crystalline zincite with willemite from the Franklin mine, Franklin, Sussex County, NJ. Zincite of this quality is no long obtainable. Augite/jeffersonite crystals from the Noble pit of the Sterling Hill mine, Ogdensburg, Sussex County, NJ. This area is now pretty well covered up with new boulders, trees, etc. The piece weighs 4.7 oz. and is 3.1 x 2.0 x 1.6 inches. $12.00, item #3672 Biotite crystal on very fluorescent calcite from the Sterling Hill mine, Sussex County, NJ. Scheelite, willemite, and calcite from the Taylor Road dump, Franklin, Sussex County, NJ. The scheelite fluoresces pale yellow SW, the willemite fluoresces green SW and the calcite fluoresces orange-red SW. The piece weighs 14.6 oz. and is 4.0 x 3.2 x 1.0 inches. $34.00, item #1358 Blue-gray areas of fluorapatite (very nice brightness and coverage), willemite, & andradite from the Franklin mine, Franklin, Sussex County, NJ. A 2003 find at Sterling Hill with substantial evidence of copper from the west wall of the sand pit. The azurite is blue and the malachite is green (colors are brighter than photo shows) and both are oxidized products of copper. Under SW UV, the calcite fluoresces typical red-orange. Very Unusual - Tremolite in calcite with phlogopite. The tremolite crystals have been partially replaced by fine-grained aggregates of phlogopite. From the Franklin quarry, Franklin, Sussex County, NJ. The tremolite fluoresces bright pale blue SW and the phlogopite fluoresces yellow SW. Balls of crystalline strontianite from the National limestone quarry, Mt. Pleasant Mills, Snyder County, PA. The strontianite fluoresces white SW and has a long-lasting phosphorescense. Gemmy sphalerite crystals on matrix that came out of the ZCA Hyatt mine in Talcville, New York over 50 years ago. The mine is closed and this material has not been offered in years. It won't knock your socks off with its fluorescence, but it is great in daylight and very rare. Collectors say the sphalerite is brighter under midwave UV.
