Picture Frames For Sale

A beautiful mahogany frame meant to hold a small, oil portrait or daguerreotype photograph from 1840-1850. 7 1/4 x 7 1/2" od. 3 3/8 x 4/ 1/8 picture size, #413, $150.00

Frames can be purchased using personal checks, money orders, and Paypal. My address is Stuart Schneider, P.O. Postage and handling, and insurance (if you want it) will be added to your order once the weight is figured. I mail using the US Postal Service with delivery confirmation. Terms: You can return any item to me within 10 days for any reason. If I totally misdescribed it, I will refund your postage both ways. If you are dissatisfied, you pay postage both ways. Note: These Frames are 110 to 175 years old. Generally, there may be some slight damage to the surface or a chip or two. I have tried to make each photo large enough so that you can see what I am offering. Note that the dimensions given are accurate if you need to fit a certain picture. The "sight" edge is the inside of the frame. On an 8 x10" frame, what you will see is about 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. I sell frames without the glass. Your local glass shop or framing shop can cut the right size glass for you. If you have concerns, please ask in advance.

A rare overlapping corner construction high quality, mahogany veneer frame that date to 1829-1835. It has wood blocks in each corner. 6 1/2 x 8 1/2" od., 4 7/8 x 6 3/4" pic.size, #418, $225.00

These "Ripple" frames are among my favorites. They were only made for a few years in the mid-1830s and are very difficult to find. Rippled, gesso covered frame from the 1830s. 18 7/8 x 22 7/8" od. #423, $400.00

I am not sure why this frame photographs like this. On a wall, it looks very smooth. You need to get very close to see how the simple black finish has acquired a beautiful age crackle. For a 175 year old frame, it is rather exceptional.
Often the corner decorations have broken off. This one is all there.

A beautiful, smooth, lemon or gold gilded frame that is 15.5 x 19.5 inches with a 14.5 x 18.0 opening. Ca. 1845. shows typical wear that enhances the frame's beauty. item #424, $180.00 A superb 1850 Ogee-style mahogany veneer frame with a mirror. It is 19.25 x 25.75 inches with an 11 x 17.5 inch opening. Highest quality mahogany. item #427, $250.00

Tramp art frames are usually made from the cheap, soft mahogany that came from old cigar boxes. This is all hard walnut and shows that a skilled frame maker constructed it.
